INTERACTIVE SOUND INSTALLATION

Gravity Orchestra is an interactive sound installation built to evoke your inner virtuoso. This award-winning installation has had a fascinating evolutionary journey since its inception as an experimental project within the Gentilhomme LAB. After being tested by the general public in a real arcade, it was presented to the industry in 2022 during Hub Montreal and at SXSW. Gravity Orchestra was then reactivated during the 9th edition of the MAPP_MTL festival, this time in the form of a large-scale interactive installation, projected on the walls of the Van Horne warehouse in Montreal.

Vision

Using simple wooden blocks to conduct free-falling pinballs from above, the user can explore an infinite number of arrangements and styles depending on their intuition. The installation includes hundreds of original sounds produced by Dubline Studios.

Approach

While no musical experience is required to perform, the well-experienced musician or composer may find new musical challenges and opportunities. Each instrument resonates differently during collisions between objects, sent directly from UNREAL.
